Now that the online home of the ‘new’ Cedar Canyon Textiles is up and running, I’m starting to work on some exciting new learning opportunities. Since we can’t all meet in my studio every week or every month (it would be pretty darn crowded!), I need to know more about you and your friends here in the community. And here’s where you can help me out…
I’ve put together a short survey to gather your thoughts about a couple of topics.
What Kind of Learner are You?
First, HOW do you like to learn? Are you a ‘reader’ or a ‘watcher’? Do you like to get all the information at once – or do you prefer getting it in chunks once a week so you don’t get overwhelmed?
What Topics Are You Excited About?
Second, WHAT do you want to learn? When we were ‘rebuilding’ here at Cedar Canyon, we purposely chose the tagline “Discover the Magic of Fabric Art.” That gives me a whole lot of latitude, but I want to make sure I’m serving up what YOU want, not whatever happens to make me happy.
The first thing that comes to my mind is to build classes that explore the topics in Paintstiks on Fabric, Rubbing Plate Roundup and Design Magic. Or, I could do a more detailed course on Creating Your Own Stamps and Rubbing Plates. But maybe you have something totally different in mind…

I’m more of a visual learner. Perhaps you could offer ‘e-classes,’
where a class description is given, along w a photo or two of finished examples, a quick teacher bio and the price. Students could click to purchase and then watch the video, buy supplies, etc at their leisure.

I prefer to see a technique demonstrated. The best is live demos because of the input from others, BUT I love U-Tube videos,too, because you can go back and watch how it’s done if it didn’t work the first try.

Oh sounds great ! I would love to see instructional videos as well ( as suggested above ). I have been enjoying your creative postings (many times including new ideas ) for a long while..Always love to read them..But even better witha video now and then. Thank you for offering us the option to “interfere”…LOL
